You will experience the deep, leathery richness of the fabrics of Bateman Ogden, established in 1881 and known as true representatives of Britishness.
I do not only feel that it is a practical decision to have these materials run over by your hand, but it is the decision that is made about the parchment on which you are to write your own story. It is a physical association with a tradition of quality that is a core component of what makes a bespoke suit stand out from all other types of tailoring.
The Measure-Up – The Architectural Blueprint of You
Here, precision engineering meets the individuality of personality. Our 40-plus individual readings make a breakup map of your form. Yet, there is much more than just numbers on the chart about this step. It is a holistic study of you. We examine your posture in nature, the slight disproportion of your posture, and the manner in which you move in space.
With this carefulness, the suit will be an extension of you, and not a shell. This is also where we implement the ideas of sartorial psychology, intentionally trying to shape a figure that improves your own shoulder-waist ratio, which is a visual indicator that the human brain subconsciously links to strength and power. During the course of the 6 to 8 weeks, your suit will be fashioned through a number of painstaking fittings. It is the most cooperative stage, in which the story of the first conversation and the accuracy of the measurements come into actual existence. You will find the canvas being formed to the lines of your breast, the sleeves being arranged so as to permit easy movement, and the trousers being folded so as to create a straight, clean line.
It is at such fittings, moreover, that the psychological principle of the enclothed cognition becomes very clear. This is the scientific phenomenon that occurs where the things that we wear directly affect the way we psychologically think.
